In a world where the majority of menstrual products are single-use and contribute to environmental, economic, health, and social impacts, MENSY envisions a shift towards reusable, toxic-free, and plastic-free alternatives.
Mensy is a 24 month long project funded by Erasmus+. The project is delivered by eight project partners; VOICE in Ireland, Women's Environmental Network in the UK, ZERO in Portugal, Rezero in Catalonia, Women Engage for a Common Future in the Netherlands, Friends of the Earth Croatia, Greenzone in Hungary and Zero Waste Lviv in Ukraine.
→ WHAT DOES MENSY AIM TO ACHIEVE?
The Mensy project aims to develop a manual and resources on sustainable menstruation for use by youth leaders when working with young people. We will also train youth leaders in use of the manual and resources. Through engaging at least 160 youth leaders across Europe, we aim to pioneer the "Menstruation: Empowerment and Sustainability" training programme, fostering a new generation of advocates for environmental, economic, and gender justice in menstrual education. By the project's end, we anticipate 80 dedicated youth leaders from eight European countries committed to conducting training sessions within one year of completing the pilot programme.
→ RESOURCES CREATED BY THE MENSY PROJECT
Through this project we have created a training manual for youth leaders. This is in the process of being translated into Dutch, Portuguese, Catalan, Spanish, Hungarian, Croatian, Hungarian and Ukrainian. The English version of the manual can be viewed and downloaded
